Covid-19 Updates - May 2021

As for now, all airline passengers must present a negative covid-19 test taken within 72 hours of travel. All documents must be printed and brought with you. Otherwise, the airlines will not permit you to check-in. Vaccinated passengers and of ages two years and older must get tested. Vaccinated passengers must follow the exact requirements as those not vaccinated yet. Vaccines don’t change the regulations regarding covid-19 for entering/leaving the country.

CURFEW AND RESTRICTIONS

The national curfew has extended from May 10 until May 23, 2021, from 10:00 pm to 5:00 am. Bars, nightclubs, convention centers, theaters are not permitted to operate. Businesses allowed to open during the week can have a 50% capacity and open from 5:00 am to 10:00 pm. The last identification number is not required to transit in any department of Honduras. Meetings cant exceed ten people. The only people allowed to circulate outside the curfew are the front-line personnel, public transportation contracted by businesses and heavy cargo, health, hotels, people that arrive on night flights (carrying a ticket with their destination), and any employee of banks, pharmacies, gas stations, machine industry, and those working shifts at night. Everyone, including tourists, must respect the curfew and must follow the biosecurity measures.

COVID-19 TESTING

COVID testing is available for US citizens and all tourists in need of a test before leaving the country. PCR and Antigen tests are available in Honduras, and results are giving within 72 hours. Travelers must take their passport when performing the COVID test, as the information on the results must match your passport name and number.

ENTRY AND LEAVE REQUIREMENTS

  • All travelers must complete the immigration precheck form at
    https://prechequeo.inm.gob.hn
    Travelers will receive a confirmation email, which they should print and carry with them.

  • Passengers must present a negative result of PCR or Rapid Test, carried out in a period not exceeding 72 hours before entering the country.

  • Comply with the biosecurity measures: use of a mask, social distancing, and gel.

  • As a temporary measure, travelers from the United Kingdom or South Africa or transited through those areas in the last two weeks must quarantine for 14 days upon the arrival.

  • Travelers must quarantine if they show symptoms or be in contact with a confirmed case of COVID-19 in a medical center or the traveler’s place of stay for monitoring by the Ministry of Health for 14 days.
