We had to sell our 2021 Kia Soul before coming to the island to live. Duty too high. So we will be going to mainland Honduras to buy a car. What is available around here? I would like suggestions on what cars and even models to look for. We are in our 70s & will transport friends in their 50+ so we need a 4-door car. Thanks.

Try to find a Toyota Corolla. Good on gas, cheap and reliable, 4 doors. or a Honda Accord to start

the most common car on the island is the Ford Escape especially if you have the 4X4 WD. Why? Because parts are readily available; many go on sale here from anywhere between $6,000-$10,000 USD and the mechanics on the island know how to repair and maintain. Dont buy Jeep. Toyotas are also popular here for the same reasons. You can find good used cars from the AVIS store here or the KIA store here on the island. If you cannot acquire what you want here then a trip to the mainland may be your best bet. If it’s a NEW car you seek to buy then the mainland is best. Unless you decide on a KIA which has a dealership here on the island.
