You should take into consideration that there are rules and regulations you’ll need to follow.
Lobster season on Roatan is from July 1 st to February 28th. The lobster hunting is only
permitted during the season and only to people with lobster fishing permits given by the
Marine Park. It is important to mention that these people must hunt outside of Roatan’s
Marine Reserve with a Hawaiian sling. It is also illegal for everyone (including fishermen with
permits) to hunt undersized lobsters and to go diving to hunt them inside the reserve. For
fishermen to catch lobsters, their tails must be 5.5 inches or 14 centimeters. It is prohibited to
hunt lobsters between March to June.
