Coming down to Roatan and staying for a month or two before making a complete move may also help solidify the conviction of relocating.

To be honest so much of the “shock” is related to the lack of basic commodities and comforts. It has less to to with “culture.”

Remember this, it’s never where you are that matters, but who you are there with that counts. Find good company and you’ll be alright.
