Guanaja & Bonacca

My Father & I visited a school on Guanaja and it was such a neat experience. My Dad stayed in touch with some students for years and sent them money a few times a year.

Guanaja is amazing, as is Bonacca. We did a TOMS shoe drive on both islands
and I fell even more in love with the Bay Islands.

Now you’re getting into some real island talk. I personally have never been to Bonacca, but my experience with Guanaja was world class. But shhhhh don’t let more of the cat out of the bag. Better keep that on the down low

For those who are not sure where Bonacca is, or what it is, it is a small Cay of the cost of Guanaja. Guanaja is one of three main islands that comprise the Bay Islands. I’ve been told that they Cay is also called “Guanaja” or that Bonacca also means Guanaja?..but I am not totally sure. I know it is referred by islanders as “Low Cay” or “Cay.” It is a very densely populated Cay with waterways running through it.
