Is it hard to meet friends as an expat from the the US?

Are Americans welcomed on Roatan? or treated as outsiders?

Treated just fine. You won’t be considered a local, probably ever, but that is ok. We have friends that have been here 30+ years and are still considered gringos, but that doesn’t mean you’re treated any differently. As a whole people here are very nice. And a huge expat community, so you can find your spot easily.

Welcome @Paul-Rhonda
They are very welcome, in fact English is more spoken than Spanish and you can use dollars instead of Lempiras or both.

Thank you, maybe that will help ease her mind a little bit. Anything else that maybe an issue that we probably would not think of?
Thank you again
