Least expensive way to send money to someone on Roatan?

We have a friend on Roatan. We would like to send him money to buy food to help families. Does anybody have suggestions for the safest and least expensive way to send money?

The only way is to wire money if you are in the US. Your friend in Roatan needs to have a checking account and you can send money from your account to your friend. This will require an intermediary bank (a bank that handles money transfers in/out of the US).

I just sent money thru paypal–free to send–they have to sign up with bank account to transfer into which is tagged to their email address-- real simple once things are set up-- venmo is another good option which is also free–good luck

I’ve been using MoneyGram. Not the least expensive, but they don’t need a bank account and it is very simple to do. They just need a photo ID and the transfer number that MoneyGram gives you.
