Is the song playing in the background Garifuna music? I thought they listed to “punta?”…just asking.

GREAT QUESTION!!!

The Garifuna listen to several types of music. Punta is their most popular. The song in the background is known as “Paranda.” Here is an excerpt from a recent article we posted:

The Garifuna people have a variety of music in addition to Punta. They also have hungu-hungu, combination, wanaragua, sambai, and Paranda among other. Paranda is showcased in the video found in our Roatan Blog.
