What kind of creepy crawlies should I expect?

Many of the homes in Roatan seem to be open air. What kinds of bugs and other animals are common and could get in my home? I am worried about snakes…

Gecko’s, and friendly green lizards. screen windows and glass windows are best.
The good news is animals on the Island are not poisonous. If you live close to the woods or bush areas you may have small snakes visits but not often normally snakes visible in your home or around your home they’re looking or stalking rats to eat.

Sandflies are likely your biggest enemy…they can be managed but know your target and be prepared.
