Seems there hasn’t been an updated post for a couple of years on this topic. If an expat wants to hang out with local islanders or expats, where are the spots for people over 40? Are their specifica websites for the expat community?

Nightlife is not the same as in the States…where you have an abundance of 2am closings or even later hangouts. Most bars/restaurants roll up the carpet by 10pm. That said: you could check out Seawitches in West End or Frank’s Cigar Bar also in West End. they have a mixed crowd and the music is hot and it goes late. Facebook has an expat page: EXPATS living on Roatan and Roatan EXPAT Reviews.
